What is virtual rehab?
Not every appointment requires a visit to our clinic.
With virtual rehabilitation (also known as tele-rehabilitation), you can connect one-on-one with your physiotherapist from the comfort of your own home. Over a live video chat on your phone, computer, or tablet, your therapist can assess new injuries or conduct follow up sessions as part of your treatment plan.
What is virtual rehab used for?
There are a few scenarios where the use of virtual rehabilitation may enhance your physiotherapy care. Accessing physiotherapy services when you cannot easily attend an in-person visit, or if physiotherapy services are not available in your community, then virtual care might be the ideal option for you.
Examples of physiotherapy services that can be provided by tele-rehabilitation include:
- Consultation
- Patient interview
- Physical assessment
- Education and instruction
- Monitoring progress in a treatment plan
- Exercise prescription, instruction and demos

Frequently asked questions
Physiotherapists are required to ensure the privacy and security of your health information at all times. This includes the technology used, as well as the appropriateness of the setting in which the services are delivered. As an example, it is most appropriate for you to attend these online sessions in your home or at a medical facility, rather than a public place. Our physiotherapists use the virtual rehabilitation platform, Physitrack, the global leader in remote patient engagement and mobile exercise prescription.
