Ashley Slaney

Registered Massage Therapist

KanataWest Hunt Club

Ashley has a lifelong career and passion for hockey and athletics, shaping her Massage Therapy practice into what it is today. She is intrigued by neurology and pain science and enjoys educating her patients using anatomy, physiology, and movement.

About Ashley

Ashley graduated from The Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning in 2019 with an Advanced Diploma in Massage Therapy. She also holds a Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion, working as a strength and conditioning coach with high-performance athletes before her massage career.

Ashley takes an intuitive approach to her practice. She uses the biopsychosocial model of health and wellness as the foundation of her practice, accounting for the mental, physical, environmental, and emotional stressors that cause pain and dysfunction. During treatment with Ashley, you can expect an in-depth assessment of your primary concerns, a comprehensive treatment plan defined by your goals, and a movement-based treatment using a variety of mobilizations, soft-tissue release, and stretching.

Ashley has experience working in multidisciplinary environments, sports injury, post-surgical rehabilitation, and chronic pain management. Throughout her career, she has cultivated an understanding of many orthopedic conditions. Moving forward, Ashley is working to become certified in contemporary acupuncture and dry needling.

Ashley received Provincial recognition from the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association for award-winning research titled Massage Therapy and the Effects of PMS and Primary Dysmenorrhea.

Beyond the clinic, Ashley can be found on the ski hill or at the hockey rink. She loves camping and getting deep into the outdoors. She has a knack for learning new skills and crafts, loves video games, dabbles in language learning, and constantly sharpens her knives for new recipes in the kitchen.
